About

my brain's not broken
I was told me this was a good picture of me, so here it is.

Hi! I’m Nathan, nice to meet you. There’s a lot of things I want this blog to be, but first and foremost it’s about furthering the discussion about mental health. The more we talk about it, the less power it has over us. At least, it’s been that way for me.

I was 19 years old the first time I confronted my mental health. In the years since, it hasn’t always been pretty but it’s been…special. It’s been memorable. And it’s definitely been a special learning experience – maybe the most important one of my life.

Through all the struggles and setbacks, I’ve persevered. I graduated from college, started ‘adulting’ and now have a full-time job doing something I love. But it’s not enough. I’ve lived a long time with these struggles on my own, but I finally decided to open up and share my experiences. This is as much about sharing my story as it is about hearing yours. I hope that you will be part of this journey with me. In time, I hope I get to hear (and share) your stories too. Thanks for reading this. I’m so happy you’re here!
