Hi! There’s a lot of things I want this blog to be, but first and foremost it’s about furthering the discussion about mental health. The more we talk about it, the less power it has over us. At least, it’s been that way for me.
When I was 19 years old I was diagnosed with clinical depression and generalized anxiety disorder. Since then, I’ve done a lot (a lot) of things to learn and live with my mental health issues. It hasn’t always been pretty (I’ll get into that on this blog), but it’s been…special. It’s been memorable. It’s been my experience living with mental illnesses.
Through all my struggles and setbacks, I’ve persevered. I graduated college despite living with severe mental health disorders, and now have a full-time job doing something I love. But it’s not enough. I’ve lived a long time with these struggles on my own, but I finally decided open up and share my experiences. This is as much about sharing my story as it is about hearing yours. I hope that you will be part of my journey as I navigate adult life living with depression and anxiety. In time, I hope I get to hear (and share) your stories too. Thanks for reading this. I’m so happy you’re here!
