About

Nice to meet you!

Hi! I’m Nathan (he/him) and I’m the blogger behind My Brain’s Not Broken. Nice to meet you! There are many things I want this space to be, but first and foremost it’s about furthering the discussion about mental health. The more we talk about it, the less power it has over us. At least, it’s been that way for me.

I was 19 years old the first time I confronted my mental health. In the years since, it hasn’t always been pretty but it’s been…special. It’s been memorable. And it’s definitely been a special learning experience – maybe the most important one of my life.

Through all the struggles and setbacks, I’ve persevered. While learning to live with anxiety and depression, I’ve graduated college, started a career in nonprofit communications and continuously work every day to be the best version of myself. But after a long time of keeping my struggles to myself, I decided to start sharing my experiences. I founded My Brain’s Not Broken in 2017, and I haven’t stopped writing since. This is as much about sharing my story as it is about hearing yours. I hope that you will be part of this journey with me. In time, I hope I get to hear (and share) your stories too. Thanks for reading this. I’m so happy you’re here!
