Black Lives Matter: Anti-Racism Resources for White People

Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter. Black Lives Matter. Here are some anti-racism resources for white people, from a white person.

Below is the list. It’s one I’ve compiled based on several similar lists that I have been browsing through the past few days. While there are many more links I could have provided, some may not know where to start. You may keep that in mind when reading, but also keep this in mind:

Here are some resources:

75 Things White People Can Do for Racial Justice

A Guide to Allyship

Ways You Can Help. This includes:

5 Ways White People Can Take Action in Response to White and State-Sanctioned Violence

Help

I have nothing more to say. If you think that there isn’t space for this on a mental health blog, you are incorrect. If you think that, since you’re a white person there’s nothing you can do, you are incorrect. And if you don’t think that the black community in the United States is treated differently for the color of their skin (to say the ABSOLUTE least), you are not only incorrect, but you have reflecting to do.

P.S. I know this post sounds less formal than my normal writing, and I’m sorry for that, but it’s how I write when I’m angry. And make no mistake – I am angry. Maybe a little tired, too. Someone decided to fly military helicopters above my apartment last night.

Your post is a positive way to channel your anger – and help the rest of us find a way to contribute positively. Thank you.

I appreciate that! It’s been hard to channel that anger in a positive way recently 🙄 I’m doing my best to know my role in this issue, and I think that’s helped me work for ways that I can contribute instead of getting lost in how overwhelming this can be.
