Like any other day, I was scrolling through social media when I came across an interesting article. Apparently, you’re more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down. This is not just some cliche – it’s actually backed up by science. I was a little surprised, but then I thought about all the goals I have for this coming year. To be honest, they’re quite vague, and that isn’t helpful. How can I achieve something if I don’t really know how to get there?
So instead of biting off more than I can chew, I’ve decided to segment my goals and try to turn them into manageable actions that I can take in the month ahead. I think when it comes to setting and achieving goals, specificity is key. This is where I struggle – setting a goal of ‘reading more’ isn’t specific enough for me to feel like I achieved anything. With that in mind, here are my goals for the month of March!
March Goals
-
Read 2 books
-
Try Yoga at least 5 times
-
Meditate 3x per week
-
Take my medication every day
-
Write character sketches – and the first chapter! – of my new novel
I have plenty of other things I want to achieve this month, but I think those are actions that are attainable and will help spur my personal development. I’ll check in again on this at the end of the month to see how I did – don’t worry, I will hold myself accountable. Good luck with your goals for the month – I know you can do it!
What are your strategies for goal setting? How do you achieve your goals? Let me know in the comments!
Lately I’ve been doing best with focusing on weekly goals that I write down in my bullet journal.

That’s a great idea! I’m hoping that my broader monthly goals can be turned into common weekly actions and start getting me into a routine.
